FAQS
What is the format of the course?

Our Virtual Classroom uses Zoom to deliver an interactive experience.
Our Online Course (£145, or free to Virtual Classroom attendess) is self-paced. All content, including modules and assessments, are accessible on our website whenever it suits your schedule. Access is granted for 90 days from the date of purchase.
How long is the course, and what is the time commitment?
Our Virtual Classroom is a 1-day course that starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5.00pm (BST/GMT).
Our Online Course content spans 2 days but the self-paced format allows you to determine the time commitment - so it can be shorter or longer depending on how you pace yourself. Participants can spread their learning across the content, tailoring it to their individual schedules. The course must be completed within 90 days of signing up.
Are your courses CPD certified?
In short, we are a CPD-accredited provider but our courses are not CPD-(externally) 'accredited'. However, you can self-claim CPD points, where 1 CPD point is equivalent to 1 hour of active learning. For example, you can claim 6 points for our 1-day course and 12 points for our 2-day course.
There is typically no requirement for external 'accreditation' of CPD points in NHS settings.
The long answer:
CPD refers to the ongoing process of learning and development that professionals engage in throughout their careers. CPD points (1 point per hour) are a measure of the time spent on professional development activities - this does not need external validation.
A CPD-'accredited' course usually refers to one that has been reviewed by an external organisation. The CPD accreditation process is mostly managed by unregulated private companies and there’s no central regulatory body overseeing it. These companies primarily assess whether courses (across all industries, not just medicine) have objectives and collect feedback, but they do not evaluate the educational quality or relevance for healthcare professionals. Additionally:
- To the best of our knowledge, CPD accreditation is not mandated by the NHS nor ever mentioned as a requirement for specialty applications, making it less relevant for career progression. As highlighted above, the lack of regulation in the CPD process means it is often not required in most medical contexts.
- The accreditation offers limited value in terms of quality assurance, as it focuses more on administrative checks (like objectives and feedback) rather than the depth of learning, skill development or teaching quality.
As such, our stance is that rather than participate in a process that offers minimal benefits and has the potential to mislead its value, we choose to be transparent on what CPD entails and focus on delivering high-quality, relevant content that genuinely enhances your skills and knowledge.
